Let Your Fingers Do the Walking: A Wild With Words Writing Day Details

March 19, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Spiritual practices are meant to companion us on pilgrimage, our journeys into wide awake living.  Every day we face unknown steps on our pathways.  Wild With Words (WWW) is a rhythm of writing as a creative and spiritual practice developed and shared since 2001.  In WWW writing, our fingers do the walking into new communication with ourselves, with one another, with the wider world, and with the sacred in and among us.  We start with a prompt (words, pictures, objects, sounds, just about anything).  Then our pens lead us into both familiar and unexpected expression.  As we write, we seek to stay present in the current moment, to pay attention, to make space for surprises, and to be free to begin again each time we respond to a different prompt. On pilgrimage the hope is to return with a gift.  Time together at the writing table, as our fingers do the walking, opens us and sends us forth with something fresh – a discovery, a treasure, a question, an offering.
